My document of "TAPS"

September 23,2008

Ladies and gentlemen fellow Americans our nation is in a terrible mess. They may play “TAPS” for our fallen nation on November 4th. If we do not pray and ask for Gods direction and leadership to choose our nation leader. I do not know which one of the candidates will serve our nation according to Gods will. Our nation was founded on the bible principles and the will of God and I believe that we will have to come back to that before our land will be healed.

Neither of these two candidates have inspired me that they are actable to lead our nation in the right direction, but we will have to choose one of them to be our leader. They have been appearing on television for nearly two years and have not told the nation but very little that they will do to help the nation. They have spent the most of their time low rating each other, cussing and fussing at each other. That is not what we need as a leader to lead our sick nation to prosperity.

I wish that I had the authority and means to ask every American to spend at least ten minutes each day during the month Of October praying to God and ask him to lead and guide us to choose the best candidate that will work in the will of God and he will be obedient to Gods leadership for healing our nation.

I believe that if America will humble them selves and pray earnestly about this important election that God will use this candidate that we choose, and God will make him a vessel to heal our nation.

I am not a person of any importance, I am not a politican, I am an old man that has lived in this great nation that we call America and I love it very much. I do not want it to go to hell because we do not have a God fearing leader. I believe another great depression will be the ruins of this great nation. I am a devout Christian and I am going to pray earnestly that God will intervene into our minds and souls and lead and guide us to choose the best candidate according to his will for us.

Affairs Of Our Nation

August 19,2008

Dear God, I have awaken up early this morning feeling a little depressed, I had a restless night, I did not have any pain or discomfort, I just kept waking up every few hours. I guess I was depressed about our nation; I am scared to death about our nation it is in the worse shape since the 1930’s in the great depression years. I am 86 years old and I remember the depression very vividly. It is not just only the economy it is many other problems that we need your helping hand to lead us and guide us to fix.

I am trying to write a story about the great depression for the 1930’s and it is still very imbedded in my mind. I believe that I am a better person for having to have gone thru it, it was extremely hard but it helped us to realize that life is not a bed of roses. It made us realize that money doesn’t grow on trees. It made us to be thankful to God for food and shelter. It helped us to love family and neighbors and it helped us to seek our savior Jesus Christ our redeemer.

I pray that America will never have to endure another depression as we had in the 1930’s, but it could happen again. So I ask you to pray that God will come to our rescue and heal our land. These are scary times in our nation, in 46 more days we will vote for a nation leader and we need to pray earnestly that God will lead us and guide us to choose the one that will serve America according to the will of God.

It may be that we have swayed away from Gods will for us that he is knocking us down to our knees. As we look over all the terrible things that are happening all over the world makes you wonder, what is God up to, and he is in control of every thing in heaven and earth.

I personally do not believe that the American people are strong enough to endure a depression as we did in the 30’s, so may I ask you to pray that God will intervene and heal our land. It may be that our lord are trying to attract our attention and telling us to shape up and repent of our sins.
Heavenly Father thanks you for the privilege that you let me talk to you thru my writing, it always give me much satisfaction to talk with you and express my thoughts to you. I feel so wonderfully bless that I can see well enough to write and can hear well enough that I can carry on an intelligent conversation. Thanks dear God for everything especially my family. I sometime enjoy sharing my scribbling with others I pray that I do not offend anyone by sending

Christmaas norning story

Another catosphe in John’s apartment

Gracious God and my heavenly Father I come to you this morning on this Christmas morning and thanking you for a wonderful nights rest and while laying in my bed and mediation on what the day will be in store for me, I knew that I was going to my sons home for visit with them and I had cooked a nice pot roast to take over to them to help with dinner, O course they did not want me to do that, but I always like to do a little something. Any way it was just a few minutes past the four hour when I hear the alarm going full blast and I laid there for a few minutes and thanking that surely that they are not going to a have a fire alarm drill at four O’clock on Christmas morning, but I decided that I would put on my robe and go check it out. I started walking down the hall way and I noticed that the alarm must have stopped so I turned back and enter back in to my room and the alarm was still going full blast again.

Then I got down on my knees and was sniffing like a little puppy dog and trying to see if there was any thing that was setting the alarm off, You know that I can not see very well and I thought that the room looked like it was full of smoke and I knew that I had not had the stove on but I went over put my hand on each eyes to see if they were not hot, so I could not find any thing was setting the alarm in action. I finally punched that little button that most everyone that wears around their neck to alert a care taker and I did not know if it would work because that is the first time that I had ever picked it up or ever used it in within the past five years that I have been here.

After a few minutes no one arrived so I started to the main floor and then I met Barber coming off of the elevator the care taker coming to me rescue and I ask her if she herd my security alarm and she stated that she did and that made me feel good that some one could come to my rescue in an emergency, she came in and ask me what I had done to set the alarm off she ask me if I had been smoking in my apartment, I told her that I had been smoking a cigar but I did not thank that would have set the alarm off. Course we both were kidding about the smoking thing. She examined the alarm and she notice that the roof had been that the ceiling was dripping wet around the alarm and we determined that was the problem, she called another care taker and the tried to disconnect the alarm and to remove the battery and then they found that it was not worked with battery that it is powered with electricity and I cautioned them that if they were not an electrician that they should leave it along and I suggested that they should reported to some one that I am no electrician and that it may could get wet and art it may could cause a fire.

They said that they called Gary our maintained man and I guess he told them that there was no danger that he would check it later, any way we did or I did what I should have done as an renter of a facility should have done.

Any way do you have a better Christmas story then that you have just read? By the way it is now 10:40 AM and the alarm is still going full blast and I have the bedroom closed and I have been sitting here at my computer writing this true story. What a way to start my eighty- seven Christmas celebration, what a blessing that ---John Davidson

Hillwood Story

Story of Hillwood Town

This is a story about a sawmill town that originated in the year of 1931, and was dissolved in the year of 1947. This town was located in Alabama in the western part of Coosa County, about twenty miles west of Rockford, Alabama, which was the county seat of Coosa County. It was also about twenty-three miles south of Sylacauga, Alabama, which was the railroad we used for shipping our material to destinations. It was one mile south of the Mount Moriah School and church.
This town sat within about 45,000 acres of original long leaf pine virgin timber and huge hardwood timber. The terrain of this plat of timber was tremendous large mountains and valleys. The size of the town would measure about one and half miles square. The name of the town was Hillwood, and the name of the company was named Ralph Lumber Company. I estimate that the average of employment all departments to be about 200- plus in most any particular time. Employees, consisting about half white and half black people I estimate the population to be around five or six hundred, consisting of about half white and half black. We had white and black quarters separated in town white on west side and black on east side.
