Easter Celebration 2011

EASTER CELEBRATION

This story written by John Davidson for the Easter April year 2011

How are you planning to celebrate Easter, are you planning to do any thing special celebration for Easter. Are you just planning to color some eggs and hide them and let the children look for them, are you just going buy some pretty colored rabbits and set them around where they will look pretty. Well if that is all you are planning to do then you are going to miss a wonderful blessing because Easter is much more then coloring eggs and hiding them. All those things are pretty and very enjoyable and those things are admirable. But Easter is much more then that it is the celebrating of the resurrection of our savior Jesus Christ.

Easter represents the day that our savior Jesus Christ arose from the tomb after he had been crucified on the old wooden cross, and he spent three days and three nights in the tomb. Jesus volunteered to scarified his life to pay for our sin debt. We owe him our life to him because in his death and resurrection he gave us hope for life on earth and life in heaven for eternity.

Every child should be taught the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ by the time they enter to school by their parents. Then every adult and every parent should have been taught and learned the Jesus resurrection story as it is told in the gospels. Then we would not be experiencing the sad sinful corruption that exists thru out the world now if we would study and learn the story of Jesus Christ, because he stills lives.

The death and resurrection story of Jesus Christ is such a tremendous love story that everyone should want to know him and trust him and love him and want to know everything that he did for us and what he is doing for us every day.

The glorious week prior to Easter Sunday is such a religious celebration week for our savior Jesus Christ. I will celebrate it every day of this week, even if I have to celebrate it by myself. In fact I do not mean to boast but I have been studying and researching all the events that leads up to the crucifixion and beyond for the several weeks. What a glorious feeling it is to be an 89-year-old man that has the faculties to be able to read and study the holy word of God.

In my study and research I have learned that Lent season starts at Ash Wednesday and this year is March 9 th and ends at Palm Sunday which is April 17th, this year and which is the first day of Holy week, which ends with Sunday Easter day which is this year is April 24th. I have been studying and researching information for several days trying to prepare my self to properly celebrate the resurrection of our savior Jesus Christ, for which he so richly deserves. I believe that every person and especially every Christian should prepare them selves to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and trust in him and then they will be prepared to receive Jesus Christ when he returns to earth to collect his saints.

The Lent season is really a lot of sufficient Christian information to observe preparing your self to trust and love our savior Jesus Christ. This season last forty days and I have found that the figure forty is recorded in 145 verses in the King James Version bible and describes many events in the bible. Just to mention a few important ones.

1- Jesus spent forty days in the wilderness fasting and being tempted by satin.
2- Mosses spent forty days on the mountain chiseling the ten commandants on stone.
3- The Israelites spent forty years in the wilderness after leaving Egypt and God fed them mania (bread) for the forty years.
4- Jesus spent forty days on earth after leaving the tomb and before he ascended in to heaven.
5- It rained on the earth for forty days and forty nights in the flood.

There are many other important scriptures describing many important events. There are many many things that we should learn and observe during the forty-day season of Lent to Palm Sunday to help us prepare our selves for the resurrection and serve our savior. The season of spring arrived to us this year for us on March 20th and spring indicates new life and makes us change our attitude it should change us from darkness to light. The bible tells us that there is no darkness for us if we will walk with God. The bible teaches us that we should have spring-cleaning of our soul and rid our homes with leaven. Leaven represents sin and evil. Notice that the word leaven is spelled just likes the word like heaven just replace the first letter “H” instead the letter “L”. I give thanks to God for his wonderful glorious grace that he has given to me that he has allowed and helped me to study and learn so very much about this resurrection season of my savior Jesus Christ this year.

We come on to Holy Week; Holy Week starts at the end of Lent season on Palm Sunday, which comes to us this year on April 17th. We could write a long story about Palm Sunday and the following days of Holy Week but I want go in to all the happenings that occurred on this wonderful week but I will have to relate a few of the most important occurrence that I feel that has to be told.

Jesus sent a couple of his disciples to go in to the village and pick up a small animal called a colt, some writers calls the animal a donkey, but the word donkey is not recorded in the KJV bible. This colt had never been ridden before. The disciples brought the colt to Jesus who was on the Mount of Olives. I agree with the many writers that use the word donkey sounds better then the word ass but the word ass is recorded 80 times in the KJV bible, lets tell it like it is.

Jesus mounted the little colt and descended from the Mount of Olives, going to Jerusalem and a multitude of Christians surrounded him and followed him in to Jerusalem, they paved the road with their coats, robes and other garments and cut palm limbs and palm leaves to cover the path that traveled. There was much excitement and celebration singing the song loud hosanna, to our king.
Jesus humbled himself by riding the puny small colt into Jerusalem, He clearly showed that he was not political or military minded. The people welcomed him with shouts of hosanna to the king. People acclaimed him to be the Messiah and” son of David” He truly was the Son of God; he was God in flesh while on earth.

On Thursday evening of Holy Week Jesus met with all his disciples in the upper room to eat a Passover meal. I am not so sure that was a Passover meal because Passover day would have been the day that Jesus died. But it seams that they had Passover feast meals all during the Holy Week, so it could very well have been a Passover meal. Any way it was the last supper that our lord Jesus ate before they crucified him “ THE LORDS SUPPER “ I have been a little knowledgeable of the Lords supper for many years but in my in dept study this year; I Have learned so very much more how Jesus loves and cares for us and died for our sins.

The Lords supper is the most important supper that has ever been served to any group of people on earth. Jesus was the keynote speaker and only had the twelve disciples in attendance, and the news has traveled thru out the whole world but I am not sure that the message has been received and accepted by all. Thru my study this year I feel that my Lord placed me into the upper room with Jesus and the disciples in my minds eye and ears I saw and listened to everything that was said. There have been many big dinners and big suppers since that night but there has never been one that equaled that one; our Presidents and others have served many larger and more expensive but the impotent’s has not compared to the Lords supper, and don’t you forget it. They sat down and while they were eating Jesus stated to them that one of them would betray him. They all were exceedingly and scornful and asking Jesus is it I, and Jesus stated that the one that dipped his hand with me in the dish would betray me. Judas who was the betrayer asks Jesus is if I master, and Jesus answered him you have said it. The disciple all appeared to be confused and not understanding what Jesus was explaining to them. I then was more confused then the disciples and not really understanding what Jesus was telling us, especially when he took bread and blessed it and broke it gave it to the disciples and told them to eat it that it was his body. He then took the cup and gave thanks and gives it to them and told them to drink it, all of you. For this is my blood of the new covenant, which this is shed for many for the remission of sin. I stayed confused until I studied the word of God and learned what Jesus was all about.

Jesus is the bread of life without Jesus there is nothing worth for living for. Without him we are doomed to hell. Jesus is the bread sent from Heaven. There are 330 verses recorded of bread in KJV bible. It is no wonder that Jesus choose bread and water and blood to describe him self to us. Jesus is the word of bread, it is the basic food that keeps us all alive and gives us strength and it is spiritual food to feed our soul. That is the only food that we eat at every meal in our lives. God fed the Israelites manna (bread) in the wilderness thru mosses for forty years. Jesus fed the five thousand men plus women and children, and he fed the four thousand men and women and children. God created bread to feed these people the same way he did when he created heaven and earth in the beginning.

Some bread scriptures

1- For the bread of God is which is cometh down from Heaven, and giveth life unto the world. John 6:33

2- And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life. He that cometh to me shall never hunger and he that beneath on me shall never thirst. John 6:35

3- I am the bread of life. John 6:48

4- This is the bread that cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. John 6:50

5- I am the living bread, which came down from heaven: If any man eats of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

I could write a book about the glorious things and the horrible things occurred during this week of Holy Week leading up to the crucifixion of our savior Jesus Christ, and what a glorious feeling and excitement on Sunday morning that our savior had arisen and still lives today.

Please read and study about the crucifixion of our savior.
